NON CONDENSABLE GAS

Non-condensable gases (NCGs) are gases that, unlike condensable vapors, do not easily liquefy under typical conditions of temperature and pressure. Common examples include oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen. NCGs are significant in various industrial processes, including refrigeration, geothermal energy production, and chemical manufacturing, where their presence can influence efficiency and process outcomes. In geothermal plants, for example, NCGs can reduce the efficiency of turbines by affecting the pressure and condensation rates of steam, making their management essential. In refrigeration and HVAC systems, even small amounts of NCGs can decrease performance and increase energy consumption.
